Seth Hammaker delivered a stellar performance at MetLife Stadium, overtaking Nate Thrasher on the first lap and maintaining his lead for the remaining 19 laps. This triumph marks Hammaker as the first 250 East rider to win multiple races in the 2025 Supercross season, propelling him ahead of RJ Hampshire in the points standings with just two rounds remaining.
Despite early struggles, including a 17th place finish in Detroit due to health issues and a tough run in the muddy Foxborough race, Hammaker's consistency has kept him in the championship fight. He now holds a slender three-point lead over Hampshire, securing the coveted red plate and setting the stage for an intense showdown in the final races.
Hampshire's season has been a rollercoaster. A disastrous opening race in Tampa left him trailing early, but podium finishes in subsequent races kept him within striking distance of the title. Coming into New Jersey tied with Hammaker, Hampshire now must aim for victory in Pittsburgh to reclaim the points lead.
As Hammaker, Hampshire, and Tom Vialle lined up at MetLife, only two points separated them. Vialle, who had his own share of setbacks, including difficulties in Foxborough and Philadelphia, lost further ground in New Jersey and now faces a seven-point deficit to defend his title.
Cullin Park continued to impress with a fourth-place finish, adding to his resume after a standout second place in Foxborough. Meanwhile, Nate Thrasher, despite a promising start, crossed the line fourth but was penalized to fifth for gaining an advantage off track.
Austin Forkner showed flashes of progress and competitive pace in the preliminaries, ultimately finishing seventh in East Rutherford to match his season best.
As the Supercross series barrels toward its conclusion, the intensity of the 250 East division is palpable. The riders gear up for Thursday's events, where every point and every lap will be critical in the battle for championship glory.
