In a strategic shuffle towards the future, the Broncos have parted ways with punter Matt Haack and long snapper Zach Triner. These moves, reported in the latest NFL transactions, were anticipated following the influx of 20 new rookies into the team.
With the arrival of freshly drafted talents, including rookie punter Jeremy Crawshaw selected in the sixth round, the need for roster space was clear. Haack's release paves the way for Crawshaw, as does the ongoing audition of Christian Johnstone at rookie minicamp in the quest to fill the long snapper slot, a role Mitchell Fraboni held before his current injury setback.
Haack’s NFL journey has seen him play for five different franchises over eight seasons, where he made his mark with 453 career punts, boasting an average of 44.7 yards and a net of 39.6 yards. Last season saw Haack perform in four games with the New York Giants.
Zach Triner, on the other hand, brought his snapping precision to two teams through six seasons, amassing 84 career game appearances. His experience was valuable, yet the Broncos are moving forward, giving new talent a chance to step onto the field.
