49ers Set to Waive Drake Jackson Amid Knee Concerns

The San Francisco 49ers are making a significant roster adjustment as they progress through offseason preparations. Defensive end Drake Jackson will not be part of the squad as the team gears up for the coming stages.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers plan to waive Jackson. This move comes under a failed physical designation, as Jackson is still recuperating from a knee injury that has lingered since last season. The 2022 second-round draft pick’s knee issues have been persistent, and they sidelined him through the entire last year.

In his stint with the 49ers, Jackson registered 21 tackles, six sacks, an interception, and defended nine passes over 23 regular-season games, showcasing his potential despite the health setbacks.

This offseason, the 49ers have bolstered their defensive line by drafting Mykel Williams in the first round. Williams is set to join forces with an already formidable group that includes Nick Bosa, Yetur Gross-Matos, Sam Okuayinonu, and Robert Beal, strengthening San Francisco’s defensive end options as they aim for another robust season.
