Bueckers, who made waves as the No. 1 overall pick out of UConn this year, suffered a concussion during a hard-fought 97-92 defeat against Chicago on May 29. Her absence has been felt, with the Wings refraining from detailing the exact incident that led to her current status, beyond her expected miss of at least two games.
Her presence has been sorely missed, having already skipped a home game against the Sky and an away fixture at Seattle. The Wings, struggling with a 1-7 record and positioned last in the WNBA standings, have felt the void left by their dynamic newcomer.
