The Indianapolis Colts have bolstered their defense with a familiar face, announcing the signing of linebacker Joe Bachie on Wednesday.
Bachie, 27, brings valuable experience from his tenure with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played under Lou Anarumo, now the Colts' defensive coordinator. With a reputation as a sturdy special teams contributor, he was active for about 66 percent of the unit's snaps over the past two seasons.
But Bachie's contribution isn't limited to special teams. Back in 2021, he proved his versatility by starting in two games for the Bengals, stepping up when his name was called.
Since entering the league in 2020, Bachie has played in 51 games, including stints with both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals. Although primarily known for his work ethic and team-first mentality, he'll be aiming to carve out a more significant role in Indianapolis.
